Alder Practice — A family clinic on Alder Road
Visual concept preview of the Healthcare Clinic template's Home page: Says the useful thing first: when the practice is open, how to be seen today, and what happens after you get in touch. The sections below are a non-interactive composition of open-registry blocks.
Alder Practice looks after families on and around Alder Road. Ring reception when the lines open at 8:00 if you need to be seen today, or ask for an appointment online and we will ring you back. If this is an emergency, contact your local emergency number.
Reception can tell you who to see and when. You do not need to work out which clinician you need first, and nobody will ask you to explain yourself at length on the phone.
Appointments run to twelve minutes. If you think you will need longer, say so when you book and we will hold two together.
The three things people come to us for most. There is a fuller list on the Services page.
Something new or urgent
A cough that will not settle, a rash, a pain you have not had before. Ring at 8:00 and ask for a same-day slot.
Long-term conditions
Reviews for asthma, blood pressure, diabetes and thyroid conditions, booked to a rhythm that suits you rather than the calendar.
Checks and vaccinations
Childhood and seasonal vaccinations, contraception, new-patient checks, and travel appointments booked well ahead.
No triage maze, and no waiting on hold to find out whether you have been heard.
You ring, or send the form
Reception takes your name and a short note. If you send the form instead, we read it the same working day.
We ring you back
Usually within the hour on weekday mornings. We agree a time with you rather than offering you one slot and hoping.
You see a clinician
A doctor, a nurse practitioner or a practice nurse — whoever is right for the thing you rang about.
Three of the six people you might be booked with. The whole team is on the Our Team page.
Two rooms above the chemist, then. Four consulting rooms and a dispensary now. Some of the families we look after are on their fourth generation with us — the building changed, the idea did not.
If yours is not here, reception will know.
Lines open at 8:00 on weekdays and 9:00 on Saturday mornings. If this is an emergency, contact your local emergency number.
